New Cumann in Slane

Meath Sinn Fein have announced that they are to set up a new Cumann in Slane village. This is the first time since the 1970s that there will be a party branch in the village. Speaking in response to this landmark event, the Sinn Fein Rep for Meath East, Michael Gallagher, said: "the
recent presidential election gave the biggest vote ever for Sinn Fein in Meath East, and the party hopes to continue growing its involvement in the area. People are beginning to realisethat Sinn Féin are the only credible opposition in the Dáíl. They are the only party with an alternative to the austerity measures being endorsed by FineGael/Labour and Fianna Fail".

The new Cumann will be named after Paddy Mooney, a Slane IRA volunteer who took part in the famous attack on Trim barracks in 1920, and Volunteer Philip Clarke who was killed in action at St.Stephen's Green during the 1916 rising. Those wishing to seek further information should contact Mícheál at 0851650914
